Small Appetites is an in-character ask blog I run on Tumblr. It follows Jed and Octavius after the events of the NATM 2 original script, so this isn't in the main timeline. After Octavius's encounter as prey, the two explore their vorish capabilities with each other, other miniatures, some humans, and perhaps the occasional anon.

The story is written in real time by askers and myself, so it cannot progress without audience participation! How high can the prey counts go? Will other characters show up? Will they use anything other than their mouths to eat? It's up to the audience!

Season 1

1. Anonymous: Jed and Oct, between the two of you, which one is more prey leaning vs pred leaning? Does one of you eat the other more times than the opposite?
"Well, Ocky ain’t available at this time, due to… circumstances… yeah. I’ll answer in his place!

I got the appetite outta the two of us! I’ll have anythin’, really; even stuff that ain’t food. Got a taste fer metal while fightin’ back in the day, never went through the effort to take the armor offa Ocky’s men. I’ll even eat the tabs offa Gigantor’s soda cans if he lets me!
He’ll get the next ask if he’s back by then! Magic takes a sec, haha."

2. Anonymous: Other than each other, who are you two most likely to be eaten by? And how do you feel about them?
"I ain’t gettin’ eaten by nobody! Ol’ Jedediah ain’t on the menu."

"He’s a liar, of course. He tends to get grabbed by me, and on occasion-"
"DON’T TELL ‘EM!"

"Pardon me for not being present for the last question, I was having dinner. As for me, I find myself in Sir Lancelot often. He’s fond of me."
"Yeah, and those hypnotic blue eyes ain’t helpin’."
"What?"
"Nothin’."

3. Anonymous: Octavius: If it were possible, who would you choose to eat and perma-digest?
Jedediah: Who or what has the hardest thing to digest/keep down that you have ever eaten?

"Him." "Him."
"The very idea makes me blush. We’re attached at the hip, and the idea of him on my hips fills me with visions of Elysium."
"He’s a fighter, this one. Every time I have him, he makes it a challenge, just the way I like it."

4. Anonymous: Octavius! Thoughts on almost getting eaten by Kahmunra in a parallel timeline???

"It’s not a fond memory, to put it mildly. It took me weeks to warm up to the idea again after all that. And even then, I will only allow those I trust to have me."

5. Anonymous: Not Jedediah having pica- Anyways,a question for both of you: who was the fist (non miniature) to swallow each of you? Was it the same person/the same time or different experiences?
"Ocky already answered his, so I guess it’s my turn."

"I got too close to his dinner one night and fell in. Next thing I knew I was slidin’ down, and he was in a real tizzy. He’d never done it before! I still can’t smell tomato soup without feelin’ guilty."

6. Anonymous: to be honest you could just ask Octavius how eating lead feels
"It is easier to describe an individual person rather than their material. Us miniatures are sweet because of our lead content, but humans have many flavors. Perhaps I should take notes."

7. Anonymous: Jedediah: What regular food do you enjoy the most, and how much does it fill you up, considering your small size yet big appetite?
"Chocolate! Especially the sort with nougat in!"

"Ocky n’ I scrounge fer change on our drives, n’ when I have enough I get a big ol’ bar of it from the vendin’ machine. It never really fills me up, I basically got a black hole in my guts, haha."

8. Anonymous: Octavius: How many cowboys do you think you can eat before you are unable to swallow more of them?

"I'm surprised I never actually took the chance to count."
Later...
"Ughh..."

9. Anonymous: Collapse the wave function on Chubtavius' paradoxical existence.
“It took me a few days to digest, pardon me.”

“It seems I’ll be unarmored until I work all this off.”

10. Anonymous: Not necessarily vorish but I'll ask anyway. Theoretically, If one of you were to be/become normal sized and the other remain shmol, who would most likely be in each role? Totally not hiding a suspiciously magic wand shaped stick behind my back don't even worry about it...

“We likely would fill the same roles we do now, only he’d be able to eat entire buildings.”
“Who says I can’t right now?!”

11. Anonymous: Of course you would be jealous that Lancelot gets to eat Octavius, Jed. I bet you'd punch him in the jaw for it if your little fists didn't have the impact of a marshmallow

“That snooty egomaniac nearly killed us all for HIS dang existential crisis, and HE gets to eat Ocky whenever he wants?! It ain’t right!!”
“That was ten years ago, Jedediah, he’s changed.”
“My marshmallow fists would probably work better if they were on fire, he melts easy…”
“Jedediah, no.”
“JEDEDIAH YES.”

12. Anonymous: Holding Octavius on a spoon and making airplane motions as if feeding a toddler "Jedediah~ open wide~"

Lore

Things that have been established in-universe by the audience. (So far!)

• This takes place in the universe set by the original script of NATM 2, Escape from the Smithsonian. It never made it to screen, and eventually became BotS.
• The events of Secret of the Tomb happened at least 10 years ago in this universe. Lancelot is part of the AMNH collection now.
• Due to the lead content of the miniatures, they all taste sweet, but in different ways.
• Jed has an iron gut, and can eat pretty much anything you put in front of him: metal, plastic, people, you name it. He may or may not be able to eat entire buildings.
• Jed's first macro pred was Larry, and it was by accident. He feels guilty about it.
• Octavius's first macro pred was Kahmunrah as seen in the script. It put him off being prey for many weeks.
• Jed claims he isn't on the menu for giants, but Octavius claims he has an occasional visit to someone. He was interrupted before he could say who it was. Octavius himself gets eaten by Lancelot from time to time.
• Octavius's max capacity is 50 prey.
